Mind in Motion - Shhh

Blessed is the man who, having nothing to say,
abstains from giving us wordy evidence of the fact.
― George Eliot

During a recent online event, I talked with the students in a Feldenkrais class about the voice announcement that plays each time a Zoom meeting recording starts or stops. I shared how this feature, while useful for privacy, can be unnerving and redundant. It wasn’t just the redundancy that bothered me; something about the speaker’s tone of voice irked me every time, a sentiment I believe you, dear reader, may well share.

When I mentioned to this group that I’d figured out how to turn off this disruptive, unpleasant recording notification, several attendees concurred and asked if I would tell them how to stop it.

If you find that message annoying and want to get rid of it, log into your Zoom account and look under Account Settings for the Account Management section:

(For more information, check out this Zoom help file: https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0068228.)

Follow these instructions if you’re ready to say goodbye to the annoying recording notification. It’s quick, easy, and oh-so-satisfying!

Let’s make our Zoom meetings free of unneeded distractions and more peaceful.

I found the photo at the top of today’s post on pexels.com; it is the work of lascot studio.
