Amsterdam blossoms

Amsterdam Blossoms

When I woke up this morning, it was 33° F (.5° C) in Santa Cruz. Coincidentally, it was the same temperature in Amsterdam at dawn. I found myself remembering the first flowers that burst forth in the backyard of the house on the Keizersgracht.

My thoughts returned to that place in the Nine Streets neighborhood, my home away from home for so many years, because that’s where I would stay when directing the Amsterdam International Feldenkrais Teacher Trainings.  My thoughts keep returning there because, after several pandemic postponements, the next program, our sixth, is set to start in February 2023.

Recently, I’ve been working with Caro van Iersel, the program’s co-director, and Louise Marius, the administrator, to prepare for AMS 6. We have set up the tentative schedule and confirmed the venue. That means we are ready to finish the faculty roster, finalize the logistics, and complete the accreditation process.

Because we keep receiving inquiries about when the program is starting, we put together a few free online meetings for folks who want to:

– Get a taste of our approach to training teachers.

– Find out who is teaching in the program.

– Learn about the training schedule.

– Meet potential classmates.

– Discover how our contemporary curriculum works.

Whether you’re wondering if you want to become a Feldenkrais teacher or know someone who is, or you’re sure that is your direction, and you are ready to find out if the Amsterdam training is right for you, we hope you can join in one or more of our upcoming webinars.

You don’t have to wait until a workshop to learn more about the training. You can experience the start of a training program via our Training Test Drive, which gives you access to audio recordings of the entire first week of our third Amsterdam program. (As it happens, Louise graduated from this training.)

Please click here to sign up for a free Become A Teacher account on the Mind in Motion Online website and receive access to the Test Drive along with other resources. We will also add your name to the training mailing list. That way, you will find out what’s coming up, including the live, in-person public workshop Caro and I will be teaching on Saturday, 14 May.

The image of the blossom is from a photo I took on 15 February 2018.
