The road ahead - Mind in Motion

Since our first website, more than twenty years ago, so much has changed. Back then I approached one of the leading programming firms about constructing the framework for the online school of my dreams. I was crestfallen when they told me that it would cost more than $1,000,000.00 just to build, never mind the marketing expenses and the cost to maintain it.

That was then.

Without much fanfare, we recently switched over to Version 3.0 of our website, www.mindinmotion-online.com (MIMO). Using the most advanced technology available and operating within a budget way under a million bucks, the marvelous Mind in Motion team and I have built a platform for the future of the Moshe’s methodology.

The new MIMO website brings together:

A digital publisher of ATM® recordings, ebooks, apps, etc.
A multimedia library of workshops, trainings, and postgrad programs.
A search engine for Moshe’s ATM lessons.
An online school including state-of-the-art interactive video.
A nascent social learning network.

This new site is part of making good on Mind in Motion’s commitment to the developing the method and connecting the community of Feldenkrais teachers and trainees, and members of the public who practice the method.

One of the most exciting – and long anticipated – aspects of our new platform is the debut of a digital card catalog for searching and researching Moshe’s lessons, called the Lesson Locator. This database lets you search the title, number, and entire text of every Alexander Yanai ATM. (To a limited extent, you can even search by the student’s position.) Thanks to our collaboration with the International Feldenkrais Federation (IFF), if you’re a member of the IFF, the “IFF store” link makes it possible to purchase the PDF of the lesson you found instantly and then immediately download it.

An international community project, initiated and sponsored by Mind in Motion, the Lesson Locator was created by Feldenkrais teachers and trainees around the world for the benefit of the global community of practitioners, researchers, teachers and trainees. You can learn more about it here. There is no charge whatsoever for using the Locator. To use it, all you’ll need is one of our free MIMO accounts. If you keep reading, you’ll find out how to get your own account and, along with it, access to the Lesson Locator.

MIMO’s new online school integrates a distance learning interface for receiving and responding to homework assignments, a forum for interacting with fellow students, and a state-of-the-art video classroom, where you’ll be able to see the teacher and your classmates, ask questions and get answers, share the screen, and participate fully. What’s more, every class, supervision group, and coaching session is recorded and almost instantly available should you miss a meeting or want to review an entire program later. You’ll be able to participate from any computer, tablet, or smartphone.

This technology is at the heart of our new online Institute. This coming September, our top notch faculty will offer postgraduate programs & public classes that you can attend from wherever you are, each one addressing one crucial aspect of a successful professional practice or satisfying personal one. The faculty will also be providing online supervision for Feldenkrais teachers (in English and in French), and individual coaching.

MIMO’s Multimedia Media Library consists of a vast number of ATM transcripts, audio recordings, and FI® videos from teacher trainings, postgraduate courses, and other programs. Participants in the current or upcoming Amsterdam International Feldenkrais Teacher Training, MASTERING THE METHOD modules, or THE TRILOGY receive access to the section of this digital storehouse related to the program (or programs) in which they’re enrolled.

Much of the multimedia material in the library was created by participants in our courses for the benefit of their classmates. Though they were neither professionally produced nor polished, these materials are priceless. We will be making them available to those members of the larger community who have participated in – or are presently participating in – one or more of our programs.

2) If you’re interested in being part of the fifth Amsterdam International Feldenkrais Teacher Training (AIFTT V) and request a public Become a Teacher account, you’ll receive the above materials plus:
