The Feldenkrais Method is based on biological optimism.
— Ruthy Alon
There’s nothing quite like teaching a live Awareness Through Movement (ATM) class. I can instantly see how each participant is doing—if they're confused, if they've had a breakthrough, or if they're simply enjoying the process.
It's a different matter entirely when I publish a new series. After I’ve carefully developed, tested, and recorded the program, it’s out of my hands. I can't modify the tempo, refine the instructions, or even know who's doing the lessons. The lessons are fixed and final, and I have no idea how they're landing with people nor what questions they might have.
That’s why it’s great to hear from folks who do the lessons from the recordings. Recently, I was heartened by the following comments received from Abigail K, a Feldenkrais colleague. She wrote me about her experience with The Human Frame, a series of eleven unique lessons conducted while standing in a doorway.
Opening The Human Frame is like opening a treasure chest. I needed a series of lessons that got me off the floor, and the continuity of your lessons is what I was looking for. I did the first two lessons many times and learned something new each time.
You have such interesting questions and comments that I find myself reflecting both from a kinesthetic point of view and from a more philosophical, intriguing, sometimes emotional, and often humorous perspective (it’s a little hard to put into words).
I not only learn something from every one of your classes, but I am filled with a sense of optimism by the end of each one.
It's so rewarding to know that these recorded lessons can stand on their own, creating that same sense of discovery and hopefulness.

Ready to improve the way you stand, walk, and move? My recorded Feldenkrais lessons, The Human Frame, will help you apply what you've learned in traditional 'lying-down' lessons to your everyday life. Offering a new approach to classical ATMs, these lessons can improve your posture, locomotion, breathing, and coordination.
If you use the coupon code THiNGSRLOOKINGUP, you will receive a 20% discount on the purchase price of the audio recordings, transcripts, or both. This offer is valid until midnight Pacific Time on Friday, 15 August 2025.
