Creativity is thinking up new things.
Innovation is doing new things.
— Theodore Levitt
Sometimes, the postgraduate seminars that are most beneficial to participants' learning are the least financially viable. That's because a poorly attended course gives the instructor more time to get to know, observe, follow, interact with, and support each participant.
I decided to turn a deficit into a benefit by renting a home in my neighborhood with a room large enough to serve as a training space. That way I could avoid travel and accommodation costs, sleep in my own bed, and walk to work. Along with renting out the bedrooms to a few participants, this innovation would make it possible to offer a viable, intensive, and personalized small-group program.
The experiment worked! Eight colleagues from around the world gathered for five days to explore, experience, and learn a new FI. They had ample time to work together, developing and refining specific techniques and improving their self-use. What's more, each participant received individualized coaching and personal support every day, transforming the isolation of a big seminar into an intimate learning environment. In addition, they got to enjoy Santa Cruz’s renowned Seabright neighborhood, including two beaches within walking distance, the offerings of many fine local restaurants, and other cultural attractions, including world-class music at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center.
The next small-group intensive is scheduled for 20—24 February 2026. If you enroll in this program, you will have the unique opportunity to learn two remarkably effective Roller lessons. The program includes daily ATMs and the patient, kind personal attention and support that is so rare to find.
As of today, 23 December, only two spaces remain in the course, and one room is available in the house. To find out more about the course and apply to participate, please click here.
