For too long, we have focused on what happens during a Feldenkrais lesson, whether an individual session or a group class, and left unexamined Moshe Feldenkrais’ profound understanding of how learning continues after a lesson ends.
Even though Moshe never presented his understanding of what happens after, between, and across a sequence of lessons, it’s clear from the many Awareness Through Movement progressions and series of FI lessons he taught, and from his comments and lectures, that he possessed a deep, nuanced, and comprehensive appreciation of how skill and ability develop over time.
In this course, Feldenkrais teacher and trainer Larry Goldfarb brings together his deep knowledge of pedagogy and decades of experience working with individuals and groups. He offers a practical and profound approach to deepening your knowledge, improving your teaching, and making your work with students more effective.
If you have ever wondered:
- How do I understand the different ways Moshe constructed his ATM series?
- How can I use that knowledge to make my FI lessons more effective?
- What are the common obstacles students encounter over a series of FIs, and how do I make them a valuable part of learning?
- What can I do to help make learning last?
Then the advanced training Changing Strategies is for you.
You will gain insights into the way learning happens over time, come to recognize and make use of the opportunities inherent in setbacks and common challenges, and become better at guiding students to make learning last. Most importantly, you will discover the relief and joy that come from no longer fearing the habit's return.
Join us at Feldenkrais Institut Wien to take your teaching to the next level!
