IT’S A LESSON FAQ

IT’S A LESSON

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where is Larry teaching this course?
A: IT’S A LESSON is an online workshop.

The class happens on Zoom, which is a video streaming service. You’ll join other participants in a virtual classroom where you can see and hear Larry; thanks to your camera and microphone, you’ll also be able to interact with him and your classmates.

You can access the Zoom on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, computer, or Internet-enabled TV; if you prefer, you can also call into the session from any phone.

Q: I’m not sure if this is for me. What are the advantages?
A: If you haven’t had a chance to participate in online learning yet, the great thing about this technology is that it delivers the benefits of attending a workshop without leaving wherever you are, whether you’re at home, at work, or even in a park or on public transportation. Though you won’t be in the same physical location with everyone, the immediacy of video makes for easy interaction and an uncanny sense of immediacy and comradery.

Q: The description of the workshop mentions doing exercises with others. Do I need to have someone in the same location as me to participate?
A: Larry designed the workshop so you can do it on your own.

That’s because Zoom makes it possible to organize breakout groups where you’ll be able to converse and interact with one or more of your classmates separately from everybody else. Even better, Larry can visit your group to answer questions and provide guidance.

You’ll also be getting suggestions for things you can with others between the session as well as after the program is over.

Q: Is the course only being offered online?
A: Yes, IAL is purely an online program!

Q: When is IAL happening?
A: IAL is happening on three consecutive Sundays, 26 January, 02 February & 09 February 2020 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM California time.
To find out when it’s happening where you’re located, please go the timeanddate website.

Q: I might not make it to all the Sundays, is that ok?
A: No worries.

Because we know you’re busy, we’ll record each Sunday session. That way, if the class doesn’t fit into your schedule or if, for whatever reason, you miss part or all of any session, we’ve got you covered.

The unedited audio and video files will be made available for you to watch or listen to in less than 48 hours. We do our best to make them available within a day.

This way you’ll have time to catch up on or review any part of the session. And you’ll be able to do so whenever, wherever, and on whatever device works best for you.

Q: Can I just buy the recordings?
A: Yes. When you enroll for IAL, the recordings are included.

Since this is the first run of IAL, we are not selling the recordings separately now nor do we plan to do so later. Though material from this course may be included in a future online program, if you want to get the recordings you’ll need to enroll in this course before all the spaces have been taken.

Q: Do we have to attend all of the classes? Will it be enough just to review the recordings?
A: That’s up to you.

Larry will teach IAL so that you can get the gist of it by reviewing the recordings and doing the homework. It will help to have other folks — a colleague, study buddy, or, even, your study group — to do the exercises with and to discuss what you’re learning.

So you know, working through the course with other folks is totally cool. (Just, please, don’t send them files — that wouldn’t be right.) In addition to doing the exercises together, you can certainly welcome (even encouraged!) to  watch the videos and listen to the ATM recordings with them.

Q: How long do I have to complete the course?
A: There’s no deadline for completing the course.

Your tuition grants you lifetime access to all of the course materials: the audio recordings of the ATMs along with videos and selected audio recordings of the talks, demonstration, interview, and discussions.

Q: Do we receive any kind of certificate at the end of the course?
A: Because there are no tests or quizzes, we have no basis for granting certificates of completion.

We can, however, provide a certificate of attendance upon request if and only if you enroll in and attend each and every session in its entirety.

Q: Will you be offering IAL again?
A: Yes. We will be adding this course to the Mind in Motion’s ATM Teaching Academy curriculum.

Q: How can I find out more?
A: If you’re interested in signing up and still have questions, please tell us what you’d like to know by sending an email to the Mind in Motion office.
