Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where is Larry teaching this workshop?
In case you're not familiar with how this works: The class presentations about the lessons in RTTS VII are live. They will be recorded; the raw, unedited audio and video files are available for you to watch or listen to in less than 48 hours. You’ll be able to stream or download the classes to your phone, tablet, or computer.
Have you had a chance to participate in any distance learning classes yet? Larry designed this program to provide all the benefits of attending an advanced training with the added advantages of being able to learn from home or wherever you happen to be.
Q: How does the ATM® part of RTTS work?
The mini-workshops are broadcast online via super easy to use Zoom video service, which allows two-way transmission. That means you get to do the lessons in the comfort of your home, watching and listening to Larry as well as the other participants, and you’ll also be able to ask questions and get them answered in real time.
You'll also receive access to the TWO additional versions of Larry teaching each of the six ATMs on the website and THREE recorded mini-workshops. That way you'll be able to experience the several ways each lesson can be taught.
Q: What happens in the mini-workshops?
It is also an opportunity for you to experience, first-hand, the benefits of weaving lessons together in a longer timeframe than the usual weekly ATM class format.
Q: How do all the parts of RTTS work together?
You also get to attend one or both of the live Question and Answer sessions via Zoom. These discussions are your chance to get your questions answered as well as to listen in on — and participate in — the lively conversation with colleagues around the world.
Q: Which six lessons from the book will Larry be unpacking in RTTS?
SOME FUNDAMENTAL PROPERTIES OF MOVEMENT
DIFFERENTIATION OF PARTS AND FUNCTIONS OF BREATHING
COORDINATION OF THE FLEXOR MUSCLES AND OF THE EXTENSORS
PERFECTING THE SELF-IMAGE
THE MOVEMENT OF THE EYES ORGANIZES THE MOVEMENT OF THE BODY
BECOMING AWARE OF THE PARTS OF WHICH WE ARE NOT CONSCIOUS WITH THE HELP OF THOSE OF WHICH WE ARE CONSCIOUS
Q: What about the other lessons from the ATM book?
Q: Is there any way I can catch up with a class if I miss it? Will you record the classes so that I can review them later, on my own time?
Because we know you’re busy, Larry will record the entire course. That way, if part of the program doesn’t fit into your schedule or if, for whatever reason, you miss part or all of one of the mini-workshops, a presentation, or Q&A session (or if you attend one Q&A and are curious about what happened during the other one), we've got you covered. You’ll be able to catch up whenever, wherever, and on whatever device (smartphone, tablet, laptop, desktop, or Internet-enabled TV) works best for you.
Q: Do we have to attend all the live lessons? Or will it be enough to review the recordings?
What’s more, even if you end up missing one class — or all of them — you have the option of sending your questions about the lessons to Larry via email. He will be answering both live questions and the ones sent to him via email during the Q&A sessions.
Q: How the heck is Larry going to fit an ATM, the analysis of that lesson, and a discussion of that analysis into a 60-minute class?
There’s no way to fit an ATM, the analysis of that lesson, and a discussion into an hour-long class. That’s just not possible.
And, even if it was, we all know how difficult it can be to switch from doing the ATM to talking about it immediately afterward. If you’re still integrating the lesson, then flipping into analyzing it can diminish the benefit you would otherwise receive.
So that you’re not required to deal with the dilemma of choosing between learning from the lesson as a student and understanding it better as a teacher, the discussions are scheduled separately from the lessons. You will also be receiving almost immediate access to unedited recordings of the ATMs, the presentations about each lesson, and the Q&A sessions so you can listen to them at your convenience.
Q: Do I really need to participate in the debates?
The Q&A sessions are not debates.
Instead, they are a chance for you and your colleagues to discuss the lessons with me. We can discuss my breakdown of the lessons as well as consider how you can integrate what you’re learning into both your personal ATM practice and your professional life.
Over the 6 RTTS classes, Larry will be introducing a comprehensive set of conceptual models and analytical tools for understanding the composition of ATM lessons and demonstrating how to use them.
The discussion that follows won’t be a wrestling match, argument, or any other kind of contest. Larry’s committed to fostering an inclusive and comprehensive way of understanding and improving how we teach ATM. His approach is inclusive and respectful; he’s already looking forward to learning from you and the other participants. One of his aims is to help you understand how your personal perspective fits with the overarching approach he’s proposing. Larry is dedicated to helping you understand the tools and concepts so that you can make them yours.
Q: How long do I have to complete the course?
Your tuition gives you lifetime access to all of the course materials: the edited video and audio recordings of all of the 6 presentations along with the edited audio recordings of both mini-workshops and the unedited audio files of at least one the Q&A sessions.
What's more, you will also receive any and all future versions of the RTTS course material.
For instance, RTTS VII is based on Version 2.0 of the curriculum. That means the participants of the previous five editions of the course will receive access to the new presentations at no extra charge.
Q: Do we receive any kind of certificate at the end of the course?
We would be able to provide a certificate of attendance if and only if you attend all the live sessions. Otherwise, because any of the participants can do the RTTS course without attending the classes, we would need a series of tests to establish that you have reviewed the recordings and understood the material. We are not prepared to — nor particularly interested in — offering these kinds of tests. That’s why we do not provide a certificate for the course.
Q: Will you be offering RTTS again?
Yes. We will be offering RTTS again.
If you know you are interested in signing up in the future, let us know by sending an email to [email protected]
We will inform you about the next edition before we send out the general announcement, so you’ll get first dibs on enrolling.
