You can experience a live Awareness Through Movement lesson right now!
The links below will download a free MP3 recording of an Awareness Through Movement® lesson taught by Larry Goldfarb, CFT, Ph.D. This MP3 recording is an example of how easy it will be for the trainees in the NYFTT to access recorded training lessons, in lieu of having to purchase cassettes or CDs.

This recording is of the lesson known as "Rolling Fists." Larry originally taught this lesson at the soon-to-graduate Santa Cruz Feldenkrais Teacher Training. As indicated, each link represents a different size file of the same MP3 recording. We recommend that you have high-speed Internet access, as these files are rather large to attempt to download via a 56K dial-up connection.

Amsterdam Training News Update: 9 March 2005
Our last AIFTT Introductory Workshop is fast-approaching.
Made for Moving?Amn introduction to the method with Caro van Iersel, logistic coordinator of the AIFTT??Saturday, 2 April 2005, 10:00 to 17:00?Presented at Felix Meritis , Keizersgracht 324, 1016 EZ Amsterdam, in the center of Amsterdam?Tuition: € 55 or US $68
Human beings are exquisitely designed to move with ease and efficiency; however, we move only as well as we have learned to move.
Our education in movement is haphazard and, unfortunately, ability is attributed to natural talent or blamed on accident, injury, and illness. As time goes by, we become more aware of limitations, aches, constrictions, and the other consequences of how we move than of how we are actually moving. In this day-long Awareness Through Movement® workshop, participants use everyday movements as laboratories to uncover and realize their shared potential for flexibility, strength, and gracefulness.
Made for Moving aims to introduce basic Feldenkrais concepts, reveal how ingrained, unrecognized habits create restrictions, and develop our latent possibilities for effective, stress-free action. Together and on their own, participants explore ways of moving optimally, create strategies for self-care, and enhance the simple pleasures of everyday actions.
This public workshop, a special event in celebration of our upcoming second Amsterdam International Feldenkrais Teacher Training, is suitable for beginners, as well as those with prior experience in the Feldenkrais Method®.
An enrollment form for this is now available for downloading as an Adobe Acrobat (PDF) file. The enrollment form gives detailed course descriptions for all of the introductory workshops, and is suitable for posting in your office or studio. ??To download this file, click on the link below. Amsterdam Training News Update: 25 September 2004

Our first AIFTT Introductory Workshop is fast-approaching.
Brain, Image & Movement?A two-day introduction to the method with Arlyn Zones, CFT, MA, co-educational director of the AIFTT??Saturday & Sunday, 9 & 10 October 2004, 10:00 to 17:00?Presented at de Kazerne, Van Ostadestraat 341, 1074 VV Amsterdam, in the district called the "Pijp"?Tuition: Saturday & Sunday, € 110 or US $135; may also be taken as Saturday only, € 55 or US $68
The relationship between real and imagined movement can reveal how much our movement limitations are in the brain rather than in the muscles or joints. By changing our skeletal image, we can bring about immediate muscular reorganization and begin to use the innate intelligence of the nervous system to dramatically improve movement and function.

Feldenkrais teachers observe people move, understand how they can move, and guide them to coordinated, comfortable action. Knowing the principles of human design—and understanding that what we already do interferes with doing things differently—teachers create the conditions for students to perceive innate abilities, learn new skills and recover lost ones. While many around the world maintain a private practice, other practitioners apply the method to dance, the martial arts, vocal and physical performance, rehabilitation and other endeavors in which how people move matters. Teachers have used the method in facilitating learning, preventing injury, enhancing athletic and artistic performance, reducing stress, developing dexterity and sensory acuity, promoting flexibility, and deepening pleasure in everyday life.
The second Amsterdam International Feldenkrais Teacher Training (AIFTT) will be accepting applications from individuals interested in this exciting, growing profession starting October 2004.
In eleven modules spread over an accelerated three-and-a-half year (May 2005 to September 2008) schedule, the training will teach the observation skills, kinesthetic and tactile sensitivity, theoretical understanding and pedagogical proficiency needed to start practicing the Feldenkrais Method®.

This schedule is subject to change due to the availability of faculty or sites.
Through intensive personal exploration, trainees will discover previously unrecognized possibilities for movement. In so doing, trainees will find out first-hand how limitations and physical trouble no longer need be the consequences of the ways they move. Lectures on the architecture of the human frame, the nature of its self-navigation and the interplay of movement, sensation and thought in that process will provide a systemic framework for understanding these individual experiences. Working with each other in small groups during and between sessions, the trainees will refine their perceptual abilities, develop their conceptual understanding and practice Feldenkrais ways of talking and touching. To ensure personal attention and individualized learning, there will be regular opportunities to work with members of the faculty independently and in small groups.
Arlyn Zones, MA, and Lawrence Wm. Goldfarb, Ph.D., co-direct this international training, their second Amsterdam training fully accredited by the European Feldenkrais Training Accreditation Board. Arlyn and Larry are known for their warm and personal teaching styles, as well as for their ability to communicate the classical aspects of the method through innovative approaches to learning.
The training site for the AIFTT is Felix Meritis, located at Keizersgracht 324.
The tuition is 425 Euros per week for the first sixteen weeks and 450 Euros per week for the second sixteen weeks. The total cost of the program is € 14000.
