Anastasi Siotas

Anastasi Siotas has been Mind In Motion's (MIM) Education Specialist since January 2006. Anastasi also organizes Mind In Motions's ongoing advanced Feldenkrais® trainings in New York City and was the logistics coordinator of MIM's New York Feldenkrais Teacher Training 2004 – 2008.

Anastasi was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. He has a Bachelor of Science with Honors, a Masters in Education and a Masters in Movement & Dance. Anastasi taught movement classes and directed theater productions at Melbourne University during the late 1980's and early 90's

In 1997, after completing his Feldenkrais training through the University of Sydney, Anastasi moved to New York City to further his Feldenkrais experience. Thirteen years later he continues to learn through teaching the Feldenkrais Method® in a variety of settings, from schools to health clubs to physical therapy offices. Anastasi gives individual Functional Integration® (FI) lessons and offers group Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) classes.

Anastasi Siotas is a regular presenter at the Feldenkrais Guild® of North America's annual national conference, as well as at the conferences held by the New York Region of the Feldenkrais Guild. In the past he has also organized the New York Region's Professional Development Groups and organized a Practitioner Coaching Project.

During his time in New York, Anastasi has continued to develop his education in a number of his areas of interest. He studied Neuro Linguistic Programming—to the Master Practitioner certification level—with Kevin Creedon, director of The Dynamic Wellness Center.

In 1999 Anastasi began to study Neuromuscular Reeducation with choreographer and anatomist Irene Dowd. He has been Irene's teaching assistant in her Kinesthetic Anatomy courses. He also teaches Anatomy and Kinesiology for the Laban Institute for Movement Studies (LIMS) in New York while completing his Certified Movement Analyst (CMA) training through LIMS.

Anastasi is also a certified trainer of Bones For Life® (BLF). He has studied with, and worked for the originator, Ruthy Alon, who is also a senior Feldenkrais trainer. Anastasi has co-taught three BFL trainings in New York City and was recently appointed co-director of BFL Greece.
